Richard Pilkington and Chrissy Mostyn are the boy-girl duo  BLACKHEART, one of the fastest-rising acts of the new acoustic generation. They have spent the last 12 months touring the UK with over 125 concerts to their credit many in the good company of British heroes such as Martin Carthy, Julie Felix and The Strawbs as well as US legends Steve Forbert, Chris and Thomas and Hunter Moore. Their debut album Indigo is available now on Sugar Tree Records with the single Wonderland already attracting major radio interest.

Plans for 2007 include working with Sam Brown, Eve Selis and the legendary 70's singer/songwriter Claire Hamill on her 35th Anniversary Tour in April.

Here is what is being said in the industry about BLACKHEART:

"They have a traditional sound, but there is something fresh about them...the kind of music I could sit and listen to over and over....folk with a bit of rock, great harmonies, very strong songs". Says Tim Wright of The Wright Brothers, Nashville recording artists

"Richard Pilkington and Chrissy Mostyn who make beautiful music together both on and off stage have put together an interesting set of country-styled tunes that should make their growing fan base happy... ultra catchy music with a bit of country influence."
Alan Cackett / Editor: Maverick Magazine / April Issue 2007
"Heaven only knows why Chrissy Mostyn and Richard Pilkington call themselves Blackheart--Chrissy's expressive and far-ranging voice soars like an eagle, and their harmonies and fully produced sound fill every nook in the room. Their latest hymn to life and love, 94 Years, will break your heart and mend it back again as you think of your own father, and the celebration that they call up so winningly. The Blackheart duo do not sound like anyone else -- a rare thing in these days of derivation and dilution. Rather, they remind you why music lifts us up.
Blackheart! Take wing and carry us..."
Dalton Delan, American Public Television

"Blackheart - the Roxette of 2007!!! (And I LOVED Roxette! ) This band will
be MASSIVE they are a REAL talent."

Alt. Country would be the most convenient label to stick on them, but that
would be selling this engaging acoustic duo far too short. Yes, many of
their arrangements have a perky country-folk feel, but some nice rolling
piano and a strong sense of mood and melody take their music far beyond the
confines of any one genre. The breathy yet clear lead vocals of Chrissy
Mostyn, coupled to some sensitive and emotionally literate writing, have the
potential to touch listeners across the board.
If youšre looking for a mellow, soulful companion to sooth you on your
travels, look no further.
